Fugazi + Wu-Tang = WUGAZI
Apparently there’s a whole album of this coming out?!
(via Friends with Both Arms)
i anticipate this album
all anyone ever does, ever, is talk about burgers. here’s a ranking of some key burgers.
i’m no expert, i just try out things that my friend Ibzo recommends. My basic theory, though, is that burgers need INTEGRITY. that is to say, the whole is better than the individual parts, and that it all hangs together perfectly. SO with no further ado:
GBK (can’t remember which variety or varieties i’ve tried): bullshit. burgers DO NOT hang together. each part tastes just about fine, but these burgers are BULLSHIT. overpriced
BURGER KING. i don’t really have much of an opinion on burger king. sort of like a cheaper GBK isn’t it?
Lucky Chip - El Chappo: Decent, but lack of integrity. Bottom bun goes completely squishy within ten minutes, destroying point of a burger. £7.50 is a bit steep
Byron - The Byron. decent enough. not cheap (£8.50), but does stick together. on a side note, their chicken burger is bland and pointless, but not offensive.
McDONALDS DOUBLE CHEESEBURGER. ULTIMATE integrity. position artificially inflated due to it being £1.39, but this burger is practically WELDED together. personally, i find them a little dry without adding another sachet of ketchup. BUT THATS DONE EASILY. sure, the meat isn’t particularly nice, and you’re left feeling less good about yourself come consumption, but its a damn good BURGER (rather than a damn good piece of meat in a damn good bun etc). other mcdonalds is ok but not great
MEAT WAGON - CHILLI CHEESEBURGER: this is my favorite burger I’ve had. every mouthful is a delight. It’s just tasty, thick meat, slightly pink on the inside, some presliced cheese for flavour and a sort of compote of buttery chillis. ideal. £6 or something, too. their bacon burger (minced bacon as essentially another pattie) is also nice but not as nice.
please recommend other burgers to me. i want to try the opera tavern iberico mini burgers that everyone is spaffing over. not literally ones that have been bukaked tho.
today i went to the zoo in syon park. i took too many hipstamatic photos, and liked how some of them came out. recommend you go. you can see some lemur’s from the outside without paying, if you’re in the area and particularly poor.
the Baths album Cerulean is absolutely amazing and you should buy it. it sounds like passion pit, if passion pit’s songs were all as amazing as Sleepyhead, which they’re not. more accurately it sounds like Fourtet making party music in collaboration with Dirty Projectors’ Dave Longstreth, and is a perfect balance of beatiness and songiness.
the live show that i just got home from was ok. he’s a very tactile manipulator of ableton-or-similar and a charismatic stage presence, and his voice works well, but there’s not a lot to look at, asisoftenthecasewiththesethings.
highlight of the night came during the very similar-but-not-as-good support act Starslinger, who played this track, based on Life Without Buildings’ The Leanover
starslinger version:
Star Slinger - May I Walk With You? by Star Slinger

his set otherwise had its moments, but this stuck out so far and put such a smile on my face.
